About Us

What began as a vision in the heart of Dr. Renae Sellers has grown into a global movement of biblical education and Kingdom impact. Victorious Living Bible Institute, Inc. (VLBI) is a non-denominational Bible college based in Waycross, Georgia, operating under the Christian Education Department of The Upper Room Outreach Ministries, Inc., and affiliated with the Christian Bible Institute and Seminary.

Founded on July 25, 2017, by Dr. Renae Sellers and her husband, Pastor Samuel Sellers, VLBI was established with one central goal: to equip believers with sound biblical teaching that is both spiritually grounded and practically applicable. The first class took place in January 2018, with sessions held in person and over conference calls. What started as a small group of students quickly blossomed into a growing institute, thanks to the unwavering support of their church family and community.

Expanding Globally

As the need for accessible biblical education grew, so did VLBI’s reach. On April 27, 2019, the institute launched its Kenya Campus in partnership with Greater Victory Fellowship Kenya, led by Bishop Emmanuel B. Simiyu, a graduate of Beulah Heights University. In December 2021, the Kenya Campus celebrated its first commencement ceremony, marking a major milestone in VLBI’s international growth.

In Fall 2019, VLBI launched its Online Learning Center, allowing students from across the globe to engage in transformative biblical education. When the COVID-19 pandemic struck in March 2020, VLBI made a full transition to 100% online learning, ensuring students continued to receive training and mentorship without interruption.

Building Lives Through Programs That Serve

VLBI offers a variety of programs designed to empower believers in both ministry and life. In 2020, the institute became a certified training center with the National Association of Christian Counselors (NACC), allowing students to earn credentials in Christian and Pastoral Counseling.

Continuing its commitment to personal and professional development, VLBI launched the Certified Christian Life Coach Program in 2024, which was honored by Life Coach Magazine as one of the top six programs in the nation.

To make theological education even more accessible, VLBI introduced Single Course Enrollment in 2024. This innovative option allows students to enroll in individual courses for personal growth or academic credit, without the commitment of a full degree program.

Growth at Home

Back home in Waycross, VLBI is continuing to expand its local footprint. On November 12, 2024, renovations began on a new administrative office and training center, further anchoring the institute's presence in the community it first called home.

VLBI is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Biblical Higher Education (ACBHE), a faith-based accrediting agency that underscores VLBI’s commitment to academic and biblical excellence. Learn more at www.acbhe.org.

Please note: VLBI’s degrees are theological in nature and are not required to be accredited by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) for ministry-based roles. Students pursuing careers in government-regulated fields, such as state-licensed counseling or public education, should verify the compatibility of VLBI’s degrees with their desired roles.

Legal Status

VLBI is a state-authorized theological institution. We do not seek regional accreditation and do not participate in federal financial aid programs. Our academic offerings are intended for religious vocations in ministry, theology, counseling, and lay leadership.
