Course Overview:
Church History I (RS210) explores the development of Christianity from its beginnings to the Middle Ages. The course examines the formation of key doctrines, the growth and spread of the Church, major events, influential figures, and how external and internal challenges shaped the Church. This course provides students with a solid foundation for understanding the Church’s historical journey and how it impacts Christian faith and practice today.
Course Objectives:
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
- Understand the key events, figures, and movements that shaped early Christian history.
- Analyze the development of core Christian doctrines and practices.
- Identify the challenges and triumphs of the early Church in various cultural contexts.
