Barbara Maxwell-King

Barbara Maxwell-King - Community Servant and Devoted Christian

Barbara Maxwell-King, originally born in Waycross, GA, spent the majority of her life in Los Angeles, California. She received her education in broadcast journalism from the Los Angeles Unified School District. After a successful career in the private business sector, she transitioned to entrepreneurship as a party planner and floral designer. A Christian for over 30 years, Barbara, along with her late husband, served as marriage and grief counselors.

In 2006, Barbara and her family returned to Waycross, where she dedicated herself to community service. She volunteered for the monthly community food giveaway, served as a volunteer tax preparer, assumed the role of President of the Waycross Ware County Friends of the Library, and conducted Bible teachings for women at the Ware County Jail. Following the loss of her husband in 2015, she continued their commitment to serving Ware and surrounding communities in any capacity possible.

Barbara is actively involved in various roles, serving as the Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Upper Room Outreach Ministry. Additionally, she contributes as a member of the Executive Board of the South Georgia Regional Commission and serves as a Board Member of the Ware County Children's Initiative.

Beyond her dedication to community service, Barbara enjoys gardening, reading, and engaging in do-it-yourself projects. Her life reflects a commitment to making a positive impact and helping others in need.
